About Us

Birkin Services was founded in 1972 by Tony Birkin, originally providing window cleaning and daily office cleaning services in the North London area. Bruce and Gordon Birkin, Tony’s sons, took over the running of the business in 1978 and by 2007 had grown the business through high quality service delivery to a turnover of several million pounds. Over time, services and locations were expanded, often at the request of satisfied customers. An example of complimentary services included the development of a specialist division within the construction sector. Construction final hand over cleaning services are currently provided for many blue chip companies such as Carillion Plc and Mansells Construction. The ethos upon which the business was founded upon has been retained, that is to provide high quality service which can be effectively managed from our operating office bases. Service delivery has always been of the utmost importance to us, this being backed up by the fact that many customers have continued to work with us for in excess of 20 years. The family business ethos of treating staff fairly and in a decent manner still prevails; more than 20 staff have been with Birkin Services for over 15 years. How many cleaning companies can boast these two facts?

In 2007 Paul Nixon and Paul Hart joined the business. Both having been employed at a senior level within the cleaning industry for many years. The business has been further developed and enhanced with the input of a highly qualified management team, the introduction of new improved quality management systems and technology (an example being a live time telephone driven staff time and attendance roster management system) and by the Board making funds available for development of Birkin Services infrastructure. Robust and timely business management and information systems are the cornerstone of the improvements, whilst never losing the family business feel to both customers and staff alike.
